The Blue Rock is a classic country inn located on eighty rolling acres, in picturesque Rappahannock County, Virginia. The building itself is an enchanting turn of the century converted farmhouse with three dining areas, a pub and five guest rooms. With 360 degree breathtaking views, you have the choice to relax on our patio, in the bar or enjoy the cozy dining room while tasting innovative dishes created by reknowned chef Gerard Pangaud. The main dining room menu features provencal French cooking using fresh local ingredients while the pub and patio menu provides delectable offerings from Chef Rachel Rowland. Wines hand-picked by Chef Gerard compliment the culinary journey through the delightful menu. With views overlooking a sparkling pond against the backdrop of vineyards, orchards, fields and the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, your dining experience will truly be a memorable one.
Why not plan on staying with us! All of the Inn's newly remodeled guest rooms feature private baths, fresh, comfortable linens as well as the little touches that innkeeper Mati Miller has put in place to round out the perfect getaway. Three rooms upstairs offer private balconies with spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and surrounding countryside. A secluded private library room, parlor and deck are available just for our house guests to further enhance the country inn experience.
Numerous activities are available within minutes. Hike the trails of Shenandoah National Park, bicycle on back country roads, ride horseback through the foothills of the Blue Ridge or travel over the mountain to canoe or fish the legendary Shenandoah River. Explore the unique shops of Sperryville, Flint Hill and Washington, Virginia. Taste wine at one of the six family-owned boutique wineries here in Rappahannock County. Take a tour of historic sites including newly erected Civil War Trails markers. Within thirty minutes you can visit historic Culpeper, Luray and Front Royal, Virginia, play golf or take an extended trip down Skyline Drive. The possible itineraries are endless.
